Call for Papers

FERA 2018 Special Issue

We are pleased to announce the FERA 2018 Special Issue inspired by presentations of faculty, educators, and doctoral students at FERA 2018. Attendance was at a record high at FERA this year and we were impressed with the high quality and diversity of presentations. We would like your help in spreading the learning beyond conference attendees. Please consider turning your presentation into a paper for publication in our online journal: https://feraonline.org/journal/.

Types of Submissions and Word Limits

We invite a variety of submissions of various length:

  • brief research reports and commentaries (2,000–4,000 words)
  • full research articles (up to 7,000 words)

Word limits are inclusive of an abstract (150 words max), tables, figures, endnotes, and reference list.


Please use 12-point Times Roman typeface, double-spaced, 1-inch margins, and APA style.

Teacher Inquiry Section

We welcome submissions from presenters in our Teacher Inquiry Strand at FERA 2018. One author must be an educator. Please indicate in your cover letter/email that you wish to be included in the Teacher Inquiry Section so that we can select manuscript reviewers with appropriate experience.

Review and Publication Timeline

All submissions will be peer-reviewed.

  • Feb 28th—Submissions due
  • April 15th—Feedback to authors with requested revisions, if needed.
  • April 15th–June 15th—Revisions, multiple rounds if needed.
  • June 15th—Final submissions due
  • July 15th—Anticipated publication date
